Urshanabi

— I led Gilgamesh to the waters of death. His guide Urshanabi took him from there. That sailor makes me anxious, though I know he will take our guest to his destination.

— Gilgamesh does not know Urshanabi will now be with him for always. He will never stand face-to-face with him, but he will glimpse his face in the crowd, see the edge of his robe in an inn, see his footprints on the desert roads.

— The ruler still deludes himself that he will gain immortality. What disappointment he will find!
